The human brain

Art'tachment is based on a current understanding of the human brain. Throughout the app, you will be given tips on how to encourage the development of particular skills, and how these relate to specific brain areas.

Child development

Theory on child development forms the foundation of Art'tachment. The activities and tips in the app are age specific and are based on an awareness of emerging abilities at each stage of development.

Attachment theory

The relationships formed by babies and children with their parents and carers are essential to their development. Insights from attachment theory informs the activities we propose to parents for each age group.

Inspiring resources

A wide range of works by psychologists, neuroscientists and parenting experts have provided the impetus for Art’tachment. Most notable are the theories championed by Professor Daniel Siegel, Dr Tina Payne Bryson, Dr Kim Golding, Dr Margot Sunderland, Sue Gerhardt, Dr Daniel Hughes and Dr Jonathan Baylin. We warmly recommend their books to parents.
