Theory & research

Theory behind Arttachment

A wide range of works by psychologists, neuroscientists and parenting experts have provided the impetus for Arttachment.

The human brain

Arttachment is based on a current understanding of the human brain. Throughout the app, you will be given tips on how to encourage the development of particular skills, and how these relate to specific brain areas.

Child development

Theory on child development forms the foundation of Arttachment. The activities and tips in the app are age specific and are based on an awareness of emerging abilities at each stage of development.

Attachment theory

The relationships formed by babies and children with their parents and carers are essential to their development. Insights from attachment theory informs the activities we propose to parents for each age group.

Calling researchers & experts

We are planning a research study into the effectiveness of Arttachment. The study will be run in partnership with academic institutions and be led by a team of independent researchers. If you are interested in being part of such research, we’d love to hear from you!
